By Arnold Walker on January 17, 2012

If you are considering protecting your garden or farm machineries using shades but not willing to extra money then you must go for DIY (Do-It-Yourself) shades. This will save cost of labour and you will get a scope to test your skills as well. Building something for home by own hand has extra value and satisfaction is uncompromised.

You will need some materials to implement your plan of making your plan of making your planned custom shed. The materials include nails, plywood, treated lumber, band joist, goggles, gloves etc. You need to get those things first so that you don't get interrupted in middle of your work.

Making the floor:

The basic size is about 9'x13' and it can be set on lumber and concrete. If you use lumber then you need space to resize and carve the edges and band the joins on top of the lumber and nail together.

Once you get the lumbers in shape. Use plywood for covering it up so that it can stay fine from rain water or bad weather. So attach at least 0.75 inch plywood for the wood plate you made.

Walls:

Now you are ready to put walls in position. Get the studs in the centre block and the 15.25" from other end of the floor. Place triple studs on the ends of the floor to get your walls up. Mark the door and build the door header from a 2x6' together with 0.5" plywood. Ensure the walls with a brace. Now make window headers with 2x4' and 0.5" plywood.

Roofs:

Create shape of your roof that you like to place. Get your plywood and install siding and trusses. Do this for each side of the roof and attach it top of the structure. Once all of this is done it is moment for detailing and putting on shielding shingles and mats for the covering.

So, it's not too tough to create your very own DIY sheds or not even need excellent craftsmanship. Just be determined that you are going to make it. All materials are available in market and you can easily make your farm machinery sheds in very short time. Don't be late then, try at home by buying the parts mentioned above and if you need a helper then you can take anyone from your family. Protect your garden or farm easily, without much hassle or without spending huge money.
